CORPORATE BURNOUT
As companies change in relation to our economics times, more and more employees are experiencing corporate burnout . There are many signs of burnout. A few are illness, irritability, less productivity and making unnecessary mistakes. PREVENTING unnecessary stress is key to a healthy work climate. REPAIRING burnout, will create a new sense of purpose and motivation in your employees.
BOUNDARIES
One of the issues a corporation needs to address is INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY. Employees need to learn how to manage smaller conflicts in their area of expertise. This is accomplished by learning about appropriate boundaries among employees. This involves delegation, conflict management, and the ability to not take CRITICISM so personally. Rather than blaming others, or the company, individuals need to take personal responsibility for the decisions they make. Making intelligent decisions creates a sense of OWNERSHIP with ones job. Thus, greater confidence and productivity!
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Along with developing healthy BOUNDARIES in the work place, employees need to feel appreciated for the extra time and hard work they perform.
Research shows that people feel less stress when they experience some form of understanding from their superiors. RECOGNITION and public appreciation are key in reducing stress.
As employees take more responsibility for their decisions and achievements, a sense of ownership takes place, which in turn reduces stress. Avoiding employee burnout is necessary for reducing sick days, and UNNECESSARY MISTAKES. Fewer mistakes saves management time and money.
TEAM MENTALITY
Often employees don’t know the VISION of their company. The vision, is the Corporation’s purpose for existing. Each employee needs to see themselves as a part of this ideal. They need to recognize the value of their hard work and how it fits into the company as a whole. We need to see our efforts as creating something greater than ourselves. Specifically, we need to see that what we do BENEFITS everyone around us. We need to see that our hard work IMPACTS not only our team, but our own self esteem. Ultimately, it is a powerful and MOTIVATING realization that you can impact the entire corporation.
When people feel that significant, they are always more competent!
